Workplace Safety Surveys

Listen to the people doing the work.

Employees experience workplace safety in ways that reports and statistics cannot always capture. Simple Safety Coach gives organizations a structured way to gather employee perspectives through authenticated or public surveys, control whether responses are identified or anonymous, and turn that feedback into information that can support better decisions.

Employee feedback is a leading indicator

Learn what employees are seeing before the story appears in lagging results.

Employees know where communication is working, where processes create friction, which changes are helping, and where concerns may be developing. Surveys create a repeatable way to collect those perspectives rather than relying only on informal conversations or waiting for incidents to reveal a problem.

Flexible enough for the conversation you need

Build focused surveys without creating another disconnected system.

SSC Surveys can support quick pulse checks, broader employee-perception surveys, feedback after an initiative, and other structured questions that help leadership better understand the workforce.

Create surveys around the workplace topics and initiatives that matter to your organization
Arrange questions in the sequence that best supports the survey conversation
Collect ratings along with optional employee comments for additional context
Control whether a survey requires authenticated participation or can be completed anonymously
Publish surveys for browser access by QR code or direct link without requiring an SSC login
Archive surveys while retaining historical questions, submissions, and responses
Choose how people participate

Reach employees, contractors, visitors, and other participants without forcing every survey into the same access model.

SSC supports both authenticated and public survey participation. Organizations can choose the access method that fits the audience and decide whether the survey should identify the participant or allow anonymous feedback.

Public Link

Share a direct survey link through email, text, an intranet, collaboration tools, or another electronic channel. Public surveys can be completed in a browser without an SSC login.

Public QR Code

Deploy a managed QR code on posters, signs, break rooms, jobsites, work areas, or other physical locations so participants can open the public survey in a browser without signing in.

Mobile App QR Code

Signed-in SSC users can open Surveys in the Mobile App and scan a managed Survey QR code to go directly to the applicable survey within the authenticated mobile experience.

Authentication Control

Configure the survey for the participation model you need - identified participation when authentication matters, or anonymous participation when candid feedback is the priority.

Anonymous or identified participation

Choose whether knowing who responded is important to the purpose of the survey.

Public browser surveys can be made available without requiring an SSC account, supporting anonymous participation when candid feedback is the goal. Authenticated survey participation can associate the response with the signed-in user when identified participation and follow-up are more appropriate.

Public participation without an SSC account

Invite people outside your normal SSC user population to participate.

When a survey is configured for public access, employees, contractors, visitors, clients, or other participants can open it directly from a browser using either the survey link or a managed QR code. They do not need to log in to SSC before responding.

Ratings plus context

Combine measurable responses with the comments that help explain them.

Numeric or rating-style responses make patterns easier to compare, while optional comments can provide the context behind those results. Together they help leadership understand not only how employees responded, but also what may be influencing those responses.

Preserve history

Retire a survey without erasing the conversation it captured.

Surveys can be archived when they are no longer active while historical questions, submissions, and responses remain available. That allows organizations to preserve context and review prior feedback instead of treating each survey as disposable.

Use surveys for more than one conversation

Ask focused questions whenever employee perspective can improve the decision.

Safety Climate is an important use of surveys, but it is not the only one. Organizations can use SSC Surveys for pulse checks, feedback after safety initiatives or operational changes, questions about communication or workplace practices, improvement ideas, client feedback after work is performed at their site, and other situations where structured feedback can provide useful context.

Safety Temperature

Use selected survey results to see organizational direction over time.

Selected surveys can contribute to SSC Safety Temperature reporting. The Safety Temperature Trend uses survey-derived information to provide a historical view of movement over time, giving leadership another perspective beyond incidents and other lagging outcomes. It complements detailed survey results rather than replacing them.

Responses become meaningful information

Look for participation, response patterns, and changes over time.

Collecting responses is only the beginning. Authorized users can review survey submissions and analyze participation and response trends so feedback can support planning, communication, and continual improvement. Repeating focused surveys can add valuable context by showing whether employee perceptions appear to be moving.

Part of a connected safety picture

Consider what employees say alongside what the rest of the safety program is showing.

Survey feedback exists alongside Safety Observations, Incidents, inspections, Training activity, Participation Tracking, and other SSC information. No single measure tells the whole story. Bringing employee perspective into the same platform gives Safety Managers and leaders additional context when deciding what deserves attention next.

Listening should lead somewhere

Use employee feedback to support better conversations and better follow-through.

A survey is most valuable when employees can see that leadership is willing to understand the results and respond thoughtfully. SSC helps organize the information, but the real value comes from using that feedback to ask better questions, communicate more clearly, and identify meaningful opportunities for improvement.
